一、教学内容

译林版小学英语五年级上Unit5 What do they do? (Story time)

二、教材分析

Story time部分围绕一张全家福,呈现了Su HaiMike互相询问双方父母的职业的场景。这两段介绍父母工作的对话既是学生谈论职业时口头表达的范例,也是作为学生写作练习的参考。

三、教学目标

1. 能听懂、会说、会读和会写单词teacher, teach, writer, write, work, doctor, help, sick, people, worker, factory

2. 能正确的理解并朗读课文。

3. 能在教师的引导和帮助下尝试复述课文内容。

四、教学重点

能正确理解并朗读课文。

五、教学难点

能在教师的引导和帮助下尝试复述课文内容。

七、教学过程:

Step 1: Warm up

1. Enjoy a song: My father is a teacher.

T: Boys and girls, do you like songs? Let’s enjoy a song and answer my question?

Q1: What’s the song about?

A. Hobbies B. Jobs(职业)

T: Yes, it’s about jobs.

Q2: What jobs can you hear in the song?

S: Teacher, farmer, doctor, driver.

T:Yes, you’re right. There are four kinds of jobs in the song. Teachers teach students knowledge. (peach) Farmers work on the farm. Doctors help sick people. Drivers drive transport.

T: What other jobs do you know?

S: Cook, policeman, nurse, musician, scientist,waiter…

T: Now, you know so many jobs. When you want to know other’s jobs, what can you say ?

Look at the picture, you want to know his job, you can say:

A: What does he do? B: He’s a doctor.

T: He’s a doctor. He helps sick people.

What about her? How can you ask questions about her job?

A: What does she do? B: She’s a teacher.

T: She’s a teacher. She’s an English teacher. She teaches English.

So, what do they do? One is a doctor and the other is a teacher. Today, we will learn Unit 5 What do they do? (课题读3遍,贴板书课题)

Step 2 Presentation

1. Watch and answer: Whose jobs do they talk about?

T: Our friends Mike and Su Hai are talking about jobs too. Let’s watch a cartoon to see: Whose jobs do they talk about?

Ss: Mike’s father and mother and Su Hai’s father and mother. (贴板书4个人的图片)

2. Read and underline: What questions do they ask? 自读课文,划出问句。

T: Mike and Su Hai want to know other’s jobs. What questions do they ask?

What does your mother/father do? What about your mother?

Is she an English teacher too?

3. Listen and match

T: (指着上面的4个问题) What do they do? Let’s listen and match.

Teach: writer, factory worker.

4. Read and choose

T: We know their jobs. Do you want to know more about their jobs? Open your books, read P48, underline key sentences. (自读课文48页,找出他们的日常工作内容和地点,划出关键句)

5. Read P48 after the tape

6. Learn by yourself: 两人读P49,圈关键句,完成表格。

T: We know Mike’s parents’ jobs. What about Su Hai’s parents’ jobs?

Step3 Consolidation

1. Talk about your parents’ job

T: Mike’s father is a teacher. His mother is a writer. Su Hai’s father is a doctor and her mother is a factory worker. What about your parents? What do they do?

B: She’s a…

2. Dream jobs

T: I know your parents’ jobs.

What do you want to be in the future?

你长大了,你的理想职业是什么?

T: You want to be a teacher, so you like children.

(情感渗透) Without worker, without beautiful city. Without farmer, without food. Without cleaner, without clean city. Different jobs make a colorful world. Respect every job.

Step4 Homework

1. Read Story time after the tape and try to tell the story.

2. Ask other students about their parents’ jobs.
