教学内容:Story time

教学目标:

能听懂、会读、会说protect, earth, save, useful, waste, reuse, energy, most, coal, wood, cut down, plastic, oil, drive, so much.

能听懂、会读、会说日常交际用语We use … to … We should … We shouldn’t …

能正确地理解并能用标准的语音语调朗读文本,在教师的引导和帮助下尝试复述课文内容。

让学生了解保护地球的重要性,培养学生热爱地球,保护地球的意识,了解更多保护地球的方法。

教学重点和难点:

对词汇和句型的理解。

能正确地理解并朗读文本,在教师的引导和帮助下尝试复述课文内容。

教学过程:

Step 1 Pre-reading

Enjoy a story about the Earth Learn: coal, oil, wood

Talk about the Earth with the students

Who’s the Earth? (Learn: Earth,)

Who’s her son?

(PPT)The Earth is sad. We can do something to protect the Earth.

(Learn: protect)

Step 2 While-reading

Watch the cartoon

Q: How can we protect the Earth? (Learn: save, energy ,plastic)

Save water Save energy Save trees

Don’t use too much plastic

Passage 1 Save water

Look and say

Q1: What do we use water to do? (Learn: We use water to …)

Q2: (PPT) Can we use water like him? (Learn: waste)

Listen, read and think

Q: What should we do?

We should reuse and save it. (Learn: reuse)

Retell the passage

Passage 2 ,3,4

Please read and learn.

用直线画出原因(Why do we save water?)

虚线画出方法(How do we save water?)

Save energy

T: Now we know water is useful, what about energy?

Why do we save energy?

S: Because there is not much coal and oil on earth.

T: How do we save energy?

S2: We should not drive so much because cars use a lot of energy.

T: Why?

T: Yes, so I think we can ride bikes

Retell it.

(2) Save trees

T: Now we know water and energy are important, what else?

S: They’re trees.

T: Why should we save trees?

S: Because trees help keep the air clean.

T: How do we save energy?

S: We should not cut down too many trees.

T: Why do people cut down many trees?

S: People use wood to make tables, chairs and many other things.

T: Where does wood come from ?

S: Wood comes from trees.

T: We should not cut down too many trees.

(3) Don’t use too much plastic

T: Is plastic useful?

T: We use plastic to make…

T: Why do we not use too much plastic?

S: Too much plastic is bad for our health. We should not use too many plastic bottles or bags.

T: What should we do?

S: We should use paper bags

S2: We should use glass bottles.

T: Now please get into a group and use the given words to say sth. about plastic..

T: Ok, it’s time for reading, you can read by yourselves or get into a group.

Step 3 After-reading

Return to the story

Write down your ideas about protecting the Earth.

Step 4 Homework

Listen to the tape and read Story time. Finish the exercises on P70.

Search for more ways to protect the earth on the Internet and take actions right now.
