Step 1. Lead-in

1. Enjoy a song

(1)Enjoy the song

T: Let’s enjoy a song about twelve months. Please tell me what month can you hear in the song.(边讲放视频)

T: Ok. Now, who can tell me what month can you hear in the song?

(2)Let’s learn

T: Great. You can hear so many months in the song.Now, let’s learn them together.(让学生跟读)

T: There are twelve months in a year. I like December best because there is a festival.(教授节日) What festival is it?

S: It’s Christmas.

T: What do people do at Christmas?

Ss: People usually buy a Christmas, buy some presents,put the stocking on the bed, go to see Father Christmas, put some pretty things on the Christmas tree.(问两个人)

T: What do people eat at Christmas?

S: People eat a turkey and Christmas pudding.

T: Christmas is a western festival. InChina, there are also some popular festivals. Today, let’s learn Unit 7 Chinese festivals.(接题并板书)

Step 2. Presentation

1. Four festivals

T: Here is a video about Chinese festivals. Do you want to watch?Please watch and answer: What Chinese festivals are mentioned in the video? (Teach four festivals)

2. Spring Festival

T: What do you want to know about this festival?

S: When? What to do? What to eat?

T: Here’s a book about Chinese festivals. Let’s read it together. It is the first festival in spring. It is the most important festival inChina.

T: The Spring Festival people also call it Chinese New Year.

Now open your book, let’s listen and answer.

T: We can also write month like this: Jan.

3. The Dragon Boat festival

T: There is another festival. Look at the picture, what festival is it?

T: Yes, they have dragon boat races.(教授) What are Su Hai and Su Yang doing?

S:They are eating rice dumplings./They are watching TV.
